Leading global independent supply chain company and longstanding ROOTS. client, Woodland Group, has long been working with ROOTS. on building and developing its journey towards becoming a sustainable business. With ROOTS. having managed the successful roll-out of Woodland Group’s materiality assessment and kicked of its sustainable procurement journey as well as furthering its internal engagement and staff satisfaction, social engagement, activities, and KPIs, it was time to support Woodland’s newly employed Sustainability Manager in building the company’s first sustainability report in line with reporting guidelines.

The Challenge

Build the company’s first full sustainability report in line with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standard, creating a comprehensive overview of the brand’s DNA, vision, and values, ESG efforts and impact made thus far as well as Sustainability KPIs for the future, reporting tools, and roadmap to success.

The solution

We worked closely with Woodland Group’s Sustainability Manager in creating a document structure and gathering relevant data and information. We then tackled the copywriting task, aiming to create a document that would flow and be easy to digest but include all aspects that have been part of Woodland’s (Sustainability) journey thus far, impacting all stakeholders and continuing to guide the business in the future. The ROOTS. design team was then tasked with bringing the report to life creatively, producing a visually compelling and carefully curated report design that would reflect the business’ strength and innovative approach to being an industry leader.

The results

You can view Woodland Group’s 2022 sustainability report below. Since its launch, the report has been used as a guide and training tool internally, and is a key part of Woodland’s sustainable supplier management and client-facing sustainable solutions and business development.
