The Challenge
Worldwide Book Services (WBS), an independent logistics provider with its roots in the Print and Publishing industry, reached out to ROOTS. With a multi-faceted brief: Following significant growth over recent years, the company needed a full rebrand, and new brand identity that represented its expansion across sectors and capabilities, its values and vision of maintaining its modern, youthful and agile approach. A new website was also needed to enable clients to navigate services and capabilities better, and to facilitate a foundation for future digital marketing focus.
The solution
Having established an evolution of the brand name to WBS Logistics, we spent a number of sessions with different WBS team members to get an idea of the company culture, possible vision, values, approach to work and development, competitors, and USP.
All material collated was evaluated and guided us in establishing a new brand identity for WBS. A newly created personality, tone of voice, new strapline, vision, purpose, and values highlighting the purpose of the company, established WBS’ new authority.
Brand design and conceptualisation was worked on in parallel, and options given to WBS teams to feed back on. After many brainstorming sessions, sketches and colour combination trials, the new WBS brand was born. From logo design to colour palette choice, dynamic patterns, and typography with related guidelines, we created and shared tools with WBS that have them stand out from the crowd.
In order to build a new WBS website, we pulled from our network of talented freelancers and collaborated with a Berlin-based web design and developer to bring the website to life.
We took care of all wireframes, order of content, and the production of all content on the website, from copywriting to photography and style. The end result?WBS’ brand-new site is a user-friendly, functional and totally ‘on-brand’.
Our content production saw us go onsite to capture WBS team members in action, from its HQ to the warehouses, and on the road in the very heart of London.
We've implemented a new communication style and framework to reflect WBS' changed branding and tone while crafting industry-tailored and SEO-optimised copy for every page and section of the website.
When building the structure our main goal was for the user to find all the information needed in just one click, so we made it as simple and as functional as possible, to allow for easy navigation.
